I think that could be Mrs McGinty's Dead - owner's kitchen very dirty, Poirot always concerned about the draft coming in from windows that won't close :)

The title of the book you are looking/referring to is MRS MCGINTY'S DEAD, also you may be interested to know it was made into a movie starring Margaret Rutherford titled. Murder Most Foul.
