What influenced Agatha Christie's writing
by: Mary

When you read 'Partners in Crime' it is obvious that Agatha Christie was an avid reader of detective novels, as Tommy and Tuppence solve the various mysteries in the style of different detectives, and of course there is a definite similarity to Sherlock Holmes and Watson in the relationship of Poirot and Hastings. I guess all the reading she did (not only murder mysteries) would have a profound effect on her writing.

I understand that she very much admired Dorothy Sayers, if that is of any help!
